Matching content identifies a duplicate candidate. It does not prove that another path has no purpose.

Service scope

The browser app analyzes files you explicitly choose and creates a read-only report. It cannot move or delete files. The Windows app can scan, review and organize duplicates locally, and compare folders or backups.

Safety rules

Every group keeps at least one copy. Protection rules come first, followed by available creation time and path length for a consistent suggested keeper. Project folders, package environments, system locations, protected subfolders and unverifiable items must not become automatic cleanup candidates.

Recycle Bin and permanent deletion

The Windows app defaults to the Recycle Bin. A failed Recycle Bin operation never falls back to permanent deletion. Permanent deletion is a separate high-risk, ordinary-file-only action that requires explicit selection and confirmation and cannot be undone.

Your responsibility

Test a small group, inspect full paths, keep an independent backup and retain CSV reports privately. Use DUPESPACE only for data you are authorized to manage.

Organization scores, capacity estimates and classifications are not hardware, security or financial diagnoses. The project is provided as-is under the MIT License without express or implied warranties.

Advertising

Public information pages may show third-party ads. They do not constitute endorsement by DUPESPACE. The local analyzer does not load advertising code.
